Naresh Goyal, chairman and promoter of Jet Airways, in a letter to his employees on Monday said that the situation at the carrier, though complex, has his personal attention and a resolution process will take further short time to conclude.

He assured his employees that talks with Etihad are still warm. “I am personally committed to have the process completed as soon as possible and restore much-needed stability to our operations at the earliest. Meanwhile, talks with our Strategic Partner Etihad Airways and lenders led by SBI are ongoing. We are in constant dialogue with them.”

Jet Airways Has Grounded All Its Operations To Abu Dhabi

He referred to a recent comment from SBI chairman Rajnish Kumar about a conclusion to Jet’s resolution plan within this week. Jet, which grounded all operations to Abu Dhabi from Monday and has 41 of its aircraft grounded due to non-payment of lease dues, is struggling to maintain its full schedule and Goyal told employees that the decision to scale down operations was a conscious one.

“While our discussions with our lessors continue and we keep them updated at all times, as a responsible airline, we have consciously and proactively decided to curtail our schedule and network according to the number of aircraft we are currently operating. This will ensure the sanctity of our schedule while keeping the Regulatory Authorities briefed,” he said.

The Company Assured All Dues And Salaries

He also recognized the fact that as Jet employees it’s a tough time to be in but assured that the salaries and all dues will be cleared. “I am fully aware of the hardships each of you is undergoing owing to the stretched-out ongoing dialogue and deeply, most sincerely appreciate your patience, perseverance and your incredible dedication and loyalty.”

He signed off saying that he is 24×7 recommitting his strenuous and best efforts towards a resolution and will have all lines of communication open with the employees.
