MBBS Student Tabish Aijaz Khan Makes Art On Chinar Leaves And Waste Material

Tabish Khan sees everything through the prism of art, from an eggshell to broken material to fallen chinar leaves, she performs her skill on everything.

Pursuing MBBS has not deterred Tabish Aijaz Khan of Anantnag district to make art on Chinar leaves and waste material. The more Khan paints, the more intriguing it becomes for her. Anantnag is the southern district of Kashmir region, which has remained hot-bed for protests and militancy since 2016.

Tabish Khan’s passion started to vent out when she was in her 4th standard which she believes improved with each passing day afterwards. “I would make copies of pictures from my books, cartoons etc” said Khan adding that after the year 2016, she got more involved in the art of painting because by the time she had completed her 12th and was also preparing for getting admission in medical college. “Until 2016, it was like a hobby for me but when I started posting my work on social media it became passion,” she said.

Khan sees everything through the prism of art, from an eggshell to broken material to fallen chinar leaves, she performs her skill on everything. She says that the art brings down her stress levels which are due to her studies or otherwise. ” I don’t get much time due to my studies but whenever I get free time I make use of it to do away with the stress,” Khan said.

While in COVID-19 lockdown which was put in place early this year helped her to use the time in drawing the art. She has made 150 paintings in lockdown. Tabish Khan has plans to open her own gallery of paintings where she wants to pass this passion on to the newer generation.”

In future, while working as a doctor, I won’t get much time to draw the paintings but I trust I will keep this art alive,” Khan said.  Watch the video to know more.
