Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday that the Board exams of Class 10th, 12th students in the state won’t be conducted due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation.

Yogi Adityanath said that in view of the current circumstances due to the pandemic, the protection of children’s health was among the top priorities of the state government.

“With the inspiration of respected Prime Minister, it has been decided that in the current academic session, the Board examination of 10th and 12th of the Board of Secondary Education will not be conducted,” Yogi tweeted on his official handle.

Before this, the UP CM held a meeting with the Deputy CM and officials of the Education Department at Lok Bhavan. The report was presented to the Chief Minister by the committee formed by the Board of Education. In the report, after the cancellation of the exam, other options were suggested for the candidates.

On what basis the result of high school should be prepared, its options are being considered. The government has also formed a separate committee for this purpose.

CBSE and CICSE have also announced the cancellation of Class 12th examinations. In such a situation, speculations were being made about the cancellation of the Board examinations in UP as well.

The governments of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand have already taken the decision to cancel the Board exams.
