J&K: Job aspirants face two mega recruitment exams in Winter

The tentative schedules have now been announced and aspirants need to prepare for the tests with the announced dates in mind.

Job aspirants in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir will be appearing in two mega recruitment examinations this Winter. The recruitment tests will be held by Jammu & Kashmir Bank and Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board in the first two months of the next year i.e. 2021.

“The exams could not be held earlier than the recently announced tentative dates due to multiple reasons, but yes, DDC and Panchayat polls are the prime factors,” says a J&K Bank official, who wished to remain anonymous.

However, many job applicants are unhappy with the decision to hold the exams in Winter.

Mohammad Ayoub, a job applicant, criticizes the decision, saying, “It would have been better to postpone the exams to March 2021. Conducting the exams in chilly Winter is a bad idea, given the lack of facilities like heating arrangement in exam centres here.”

J&K Bank Banking Associate exams in January

The examination for the recruitment of Banking Associates in Jammu and Kashmir Bank will commence from 1st January 2021.

As many as 143763 aspirants have applied for the recruitment of 1500 vacancies advertised by the Bank.

The test, for the recruitment of the clerical staff will be conducted in nine phases across UT of J&K and in the rest of the country, will conclude on January 31, 2021.

The centres have been allotted to the aspirants in accordance with the preferences opted by them at the time of submission of their application forms.

The detailed notification regarding the call letters and further queries along with the helpline numbers will be issued separately.

Meanwhile, the Mains Exam for the recruitment of 350 Probationary Officers will be conducted on December 27 in a single shift.

It is pertinent to mention here the preliminary exams for recruitment of Probationary Officers that are currently going on will conclude on December 01 followed by Mains Exam for the same, scheduled on December 27, 2020.

Notably, the exams, held through online mode, are being conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), Mumbai and sponsored by Indian Banks Association, an umbrella organisation of 227 member banks with technical expertise being facilitated by the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

“The role of J&K Bank is solely observatory in nature to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations,” claims the Bank.

JKSSB to hold written tests for Class IV posts in February

The J&K Services Selection Board is also scheduled to hold the written examinations for Class IV posts in various government departments in the month of February 2021.

JKSSB vide Advertisement Notification No. 01 of 2020 had advertised 8775 posts of Class–IV for UT, Division and District cadre. Subsequently, JKSSB received applications from the aspirants / candidates through online mode.

The Board has now announced for all the aspiring candidates who have applied for the Class–IV posts that their OMR based written examination is tentatively scheduled to be held in the 3rd / 4th week of February, 2021.

“However, candidates are advised to keep visiting the official website of the JKSSB for latest updates in this regard,” the official notification said.
