TEDxNITTrichy 2021 talks big ideas in virtual set themed ‘Fractals’
The insightful line-up of speakers introduced various new ideas to the audience members keeping up the spirit of TED.
TEDxNITTrichy organised a diverse event on the 18th of April, 2021 with 6 speakers onboard and Digpu News Network as its media partner. The speakers shared ideas on topics as varied as arts, technology, food, music, culture, all united in their efforts towards building a better society. The talks were centred around the theme for their 2021 edition – ‘Fractals’, a homage to the various patterns that govern the world around us.
The TEDxNITTrichy event was conducted online, keeping the audience enthusiasm intact during the event through a carefully crafted experience. Audience members were also delivered handcrafted goodie boxes before the event. The event not only consisted of these intriguing talks, but also fun activities that captured the very essence of fractals in an evocative manner encouraging social interaction.

Renowned sports performance and technical analyst, Prasanna Agoram shared his thoughts on how data in today’s age helps dictate the sporting routines of popular teams like RCB, and the South Africa National cricket team, and personalities like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Shalini Krishan and Dr. Anumitra Ghosh Dastidar, founders of Edible Archives, provided insight on how a sustainable, community-centred culinary experience is key towards creating conscientious businesses of the future.
The co-founder and CEO of Hippocampus Learning Centres, Umesh Malhotra emphasised on the necessary changes required in the current education system in order to make it more inclusive and thereby strive towards an unimpeded learning environment.
Ajit Padmanabh, the founder of the innovative WhoVR, spoke about renewing interest in history by creating a bridge between age-old arts and cultures, and new-age technology.
The famous visual artist, Vimal Chandran, presented a vivid talk on the consumption and production of art in a digital era like now, and how it has a visible impact on the world as we see it.
The vibrant event hosted by TEDxNITTrichy came to an end with a talk by Arivu, of recent ‘Enjoy Enjaami’ fame, who spoke on how important it is to acknowledge existing caste disparities and how to deconstruct our ignorance revolving around the ideas of caste and equality.
