Post-Gangubai success, Alia Bhatt goes international; to share screen space with Gal Gadot

Alia Batt, who recently mesmerised the screen with Gangubai Kathiawadi, will be seen alongside Gal Gadot in upcoming Hollywood flick

After blazing the screen with her performance as Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt seems to all set to fly higher. The talented actress is all geared up for a Hollywood debut now, and significantly enough, Alia will be sharing screen space with none other than Gal Gadot.

The news of Alia Bhatt’s upcoming Hollywood debut has sent her fans into a frenzy with many looking forward to seeing her on the screen alongside Wonder Woman Gal Gadot.

For Alia, the new offer comes as a feather in her cap after her scintillating performance in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali opus Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film has been a success with full house shows ongoing during the post-Covid period. The film has successfully managed to sweep away the pandemic blues as theatres opened to much applause across India.

Hollywood comes calling

The big Hollywood debut would come as challenge to Alia who has not been exposed to large canvas film making as they do in Hollywood. The actress who has won a solid fan base in India with more chocolate love stories et al, made a statement that she has come of age through her portrayal of Gangubai.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s flick saw her give 100 percent to the role she was entrusted with. And the critics, along with the huge fan base, loved it. Rave reviews followed and she has been basking in that glory. With a role alongside Gal Gadot coming up, Alia is going international.

Alia Bhatt to share screen with Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan

The film, Heart of Stone, will have Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan as her co-stars, and will come from the Netflix and Skydance. Alia’s Hollywood debut will be helmed by Tom Harper, and is scripted by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger from Skydance are the producers, along with Mockingbird’s Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn and Pilot Wave’s Gadot and Jaron Varsano.

The film is said to be an international spy thriller, and Indian fans of the actress look forward to seeing Alia in a meaty role, and not those blink-and-miss characters we normally see in hugely hyped Hollywood productions.

For Alia Bhatt, the coming days are sure to be extremely busy. The actress had just finished shooting the Delhi schedule of her upcoming Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, directed by mentor Karan Johar. The film will have Ranveer Singh playing the male lead.
