Vijay directs fans not to troll anyone on social media, violations could have them expelled from fans club

Tamil actor Vijay, also known as Thalapathy (The General), has time and again made headlines with his unique intervention in the political affairs of the country. The actor, much loved for his roles wherein he positions himself as the voice of the common man, had even made his foray into electoral politics when he fielded a bunch of his fan club members for the rural local body elections in Tamil Nadu. The success rate in the polls was fairly good too, with 129 candidates emerging victorious.

Continuing with his interventions in the political and social arena, he has now directed his fan club to desist from trolling anyone one on social media.

A tweet by Bussy Anand, the General Secretary of the actor’s fans’ organisation Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, calls out to all members of the fans organisation Vijay has warned his fans multiple times not to troll politicians, bureaucrats or anyone on social media.

And he warned that if any member of the fan club is found indulging in such unruly behaviour, they will be expelled from the fans club and also legal action would be taken against them.

It needs to be recalled that Vijay fans had in the past behaved unruly and had resorted to trolling anyone who criticises their idol. With the new warning, it looks like the fans will have to keep their rude behaviour away from their social media accounts.

Legal action against those who do not heed warning

The tweet in Tamil translates as “Make sure that no one registers or shares anything, in the form of statements, memes or posters, on social media which amounts trolling politicians, bureaucrats or anyone. As per the instructions of Thalapathy Vijay, I’m informing you that anyone who acts against advice of our Thalapathy will be removed from the organisation and legal action would be taken against them.”

Actor Vijay had been in the forefront of many people’s movements be it against the Jallikkattu ban, fuel price hike and such. His actions and words have inspired legions of fans in Tamil Nadu and elsewhere to be part of noble causes that benefit the common man.  Vijay’s latest film ‘Beast’ is scheduled for a worldwide release in cinemas on April 13.
