Dr Kanika Agarwal H.O.D, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital, Noida, says, “We are providing 24 hours emergency obstetric services with senior gynaecologist available for each and every emergency case. Every delivery and caesarean is done wearing full PPE kit. Our labour rooms & operation theatres are regularly sanitized.”

“We are getting both booked as well as walk-in cases where proper detailed travel history is taken, zones check (green, orange or red) and checking of symptoms like fever, cough & cold is done. Our 24/7 ambulance service is available for patients residing even in sealed societies. With every new-born baby, which brings a smile on the face of parents, gives us immense satisfaction, and brings a ray of hope that the situation will resolve to normal soon”, she adds further.

Dr Ankur Sethi, H.O.D Department of Pediatrics & Neonatology at Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital, Noida added that “We understand parents’ concern about exposure to Covid-19 while visiting health care facilities. At the same time, it is advisable to seek medical attention for kids on time when needed. Taking these factors into account, we have started a separate designated child outpatients area (OPD) in our hospital. This will prevent kids from getting exposed to the rest of the crowd visiting the hospital.

Dr Sethi adds further, “The healthcare professionals working in the area also take all required infection control precautions so that parents have a stress-free visit to the hospital, whether it is for a health check-up or routine vaccinations. In case a child needs hospitalization, we have well-equipped ward and paediatric intensive care units (PICU). To take care of new-borns, we have a dedicated team of nurses and doctors in our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). We ensure that the birth of a new-born is supervised by a Paediatrician on-site 24/7 and looked after in a safe environment until discharge. Watching new-borns heal and grow is a special feeling, and it makes me feel positive and hopeful for a brighter future.”

The current lockdown has highlighted the important roles that doctors and nurses play in our society. Healthcare workers, who are often at risk of infection, continue to work day and night to ensure necessary treatments are provided.
