‘Afghanistan has Taliban, Cheaper Petrol’: MP BJP Leader’s ‘Advice’ on Beating Inflation

Are you worried about soaring petrol prices? Go to Afghanistan and refill because Petrol sells for Rs 50, and the country has Taliban rule. This was the answer by a BJP stalwart from Katni, Madhya Pradesh.

News 18 reports that in a video that has since gone viral, the theBJP leader is heard asking those questioning him on inflation to go to Afghanistan.

The video shows local media persons ask him about surging inflation, and the BJP district head leader loses cool and says that those hassled with price hikes can go to Afghanistan.

Refill in Afghanistan?

“The country has Taliban rule and sells petrol at Rs 50 a litre; please go and have a refill,” says a livid Payal.

Payal asked the reporters if they have any idea what the country is going through, and if the third wave of Covid-19 does arrive, what will be the country’s financial position?

However, Payal failed to notice that his entourage wasn’t putting on a face mask and did not heed in following social distancing during the event. They said the video was shot on the occasion of Independence Day and had been going viral on Thursday.

Ramratan Payal, BJP’s Katni district head in Madhya Pradesh, is another BJP leader who has come out with bizarre statements which have become a norm for the ruling party stalwarts across the nation.

Use Bicycles for daily chores – Madhya Pradesh Energy minister Pradyumn Singh Tomar

Last month BJP leader Brijmohan Agrawal from Chhattishgarh asked people to stop eating and stop using Petrol if they think the price hike was a national calamity. He is not alone in giving such callous statements. Madhya Pradesh Energy minister Pradyumn Singh Tomar spoke to the media in Indore and advised the common man to use a bicycle as fuel prices were going up. He even went on to blame the people for not using a bicycle for their daily chores. This has led to a price hike.

A Shivraj Singh Chouhan cabinet minister Sanjay Pathak who is also from Katni too had made a bizarre remark on Independence Day during a function “Get vaccinated immediately if you want to protect the nation, village, city, and your families. Don’t be misled as some idiots are saying the vaccination may lead to impotence. I also became tense when some people told me about impotence after vaccination…I checked after 3-4 months, but nothing like that happened,” the former minister said, sending peals of laughter in the audience.
