‘Another scam has tumbled out of PM Modi’s closet’, alleges Congress

The Congress party demanded a high-level inquiry into, what it called, a ‘scam’ by Ministry of Information & Technology, Department of Telecommunication

Accusing the Bhartiya Janata Party-led Central government of selling government properties without considering its ramifications, the Congress party on Monday accused the Modi government of ‘yet another scam’.

“Yet another scam has tumbled out of PM Modi’s closet,” the Congress party alleged, adding that a high-level inquiry was needed into the ‘entire scam’.

The party said, “We demand a high-level independent inquiry into this entire scam of Ministry of Information & Technology, Department of Telecommunication, the SPV & entire web of companies involved through which money has been siphoned off.”

The party said the country was on the brink of economic devastation while the party in power was talking ‘shamelessly’ about development.

“Talking about development by bringing the country to the brink of economic devastation is a blatant joke with the sentiments of the countrymen. Even after all this, the government is not ashamed,” it said.

Bring the issue of LIC into the focus, the Congress party alleged the Central government of betraying the countrymen.

“In the history of more than 65 years, LIC has contributed significantly to the building of the country. The decision to sell its (government) stake is a betrayal of the countrymen,” the party alleged, saying, “The urge to sell government property has hit the Modi government in such a way that it neither sees nor wants to see anything.”

The party also vowed to raise the issues in Parliament for the upcoming session.

‘This Parliament session, India needs answers, not jumlas. Let’s raise our voices to hold the Modi government accountable,” it said.
