Due to COVID-19 Class 9th, 11th students promoted to the next classes in Jharkhand

The decision has been taken keeping in view the present COVID-19 situation in the state as well as the threat of the occurrence of the third wave of contagious pestilence

The Government in Jharkhand has decided to promote students of Class 9th and 11th to the next class, respectively, without conducting their exams.

The decision has been taken keeping in view the present COVID-19 situation in the state as well as the threat of the occurrence of the third wave of contagious pestilence.

In light of the current crisis, the state administration has chosen to promote students based on internal evaluations as a one-time measure for the academic year 2020-21.

In this connection, news agency ANI also tweeted, “Jharkhand government has decided to promote students of class 9th & 11th students to the next class respectively.”

The tweet by the news agency was also retweeted by Jharkhand’s chief minister, Hemant Soren.

The Jharkhand Board had earlier promoted the students up to Class 8th to their next classes.

In the wake of the current Covid-19 issue, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren warned on Sunday, May 23, that holding the Class 12 board examinations in the state would be inappropriate.

Mr Soren, after participating in a meeting convened by the Centre on the Class 12 board exams, said, “If the suggestions received from the stakeholders are considered, there is a consensus on postponement of the examination. People feel that maintaining social distance will not be possible if the exams are conducted and children can get infected.”

As per Jharkhand CM, many students and their families are experiencing emotional distress, and numerous youngsters have lost loved ones. “Holding exams under such conditions would be improper,” he maintains.
