Himachal Pradesh has been blessed with natural beauty and picturesque places for shooting films. This statement was made by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Friday during his meet with famous film star Anupam Kher.
The Chief Minister said that the state has made significant contribution in the development of Indian cinema.
“The captivating destinations of the state have attracted famous filmmakers in the state to shoot their films,” he said, adding that there are many popular scenic, cultural, heritage and spiritual places in the state and efforts are being made to explore all the possibilities in this connection.
The Chief Minister Jairam later thanked the actor, saying, “For visiting Devbhoomi, Himachal and our residence, many thanks to you and your mother.”

Meanwhile, during the interaction, Jai Ram Thakur said that in order to develop Himachal Pradesh as an important destination for film production and to propagate the culture, history, heritage and glorious traditions of the state, the State Government has formulated Himachal Pradesh Film Policy-2019.
He said that the objective of this policy is to create employment opportunities for the youth of the state, attract additional capital investment through film industries and develop Himachal Pradesh for shooting of films, according to each season.
Actor Anupam Kher appreciated the efforts of the state government in formulating the film policy. He said that he himself belongs to this state, so he would try his best to promote Himachal Pradesh as the best destination for film shooting.
He also shared his childhood experiences and old memories of Shimla with the Chief Minister.
