‘India stands with Austria’, says PM Modi after Vienna terror attack

Dozen of people have been wounded, seriously injured after gunmen opened fire at six different locations in the city on Monday evening.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that he is “deeply shocked” and “saddened” by the dastardly terror attacks in Vienna, adding that India stands with the European country.

A group of unidentified persons carried out a series of attacks with shooting in downtown Vienna on Monday, killing two people. According to law enforcement, several people were seriously wounded, including a policeman, one attacker was neutralized, and at least one more attacker is being sought.

The attacks, in particular, targeted a synagogue, according to media reports. Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said the incident was a terrorist act.

Many other famous personalities shared their thoughts and condolences with context to the attack that happened on Monday.

As per the sources, Gunmen opened fire at 6 locations in central Vienna, killing at least one person and injuring 15.

One gunman has been shot dead by police, while at least one assailant remains on the run. Austrian officials have described the incident as a terror attack.
