Around 10 alerts have been issued in the previous 15 days on people suspected of being involved in militant activities who have been seen near border areas and to avert any untoward occurrence, they have notified related security agencies to be on high alert, the officer was quoted as saying.

Possible grenade strikes, any high-value target, security personnel, Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack, and any public places in Srinagar have all been reported to the security authorities.

According to one intelligence source, five JeM militants and a guide arrived in Jandrot, PaK, and may enter the country through the Mendhar region of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Social media also being monitored

The official further stated that they have seen a dramatic increase in social media activity, with several dubious clips addressing the valley’s youngsters going popular in the area.

He added that the security agencies are keeping an eye on these kinds of operations and asking people to report any recordings they come across. Any attempt to disrupt the valley’s tranquilly, as per the official, would fail.

Intelligence agencies on high alert

After learning about a meeting between Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed and Taliban leadership in Kandhar during the third week of August, all intelligence agencies have been kept on high alert.
