He was battling a life-threatening pancreatic ailment
Goa Chief Minister and former Union Minister Manohar Parrikar passed away on Sunday, 17 March after battling pancreatic ailment.
The 63-year-old leader was said to be in a critical condition on 16 March, amid “rumours of political instability” in Goa.
Despite the ailment, the four-time Goa CM kept the “josh high” and made several public appearances and inaugurated projects. In January, he presented the Goa state Budget in the Assembly with a tube attached to his nose.
Criticism Did Not Lower His Josh
Bashing critics for ‘not doing his job’, Parrikar said, “Today, once again I promise that I will serve Goa with sincerity, integrity, and dedication until my last breath. There is a josh, that is too high and I’m fully in hosh (conscious).”
Undeterred by the tubes, Parrikar again on 27 January, inaugurated the 5.1-km long cable-stayed bridge “Atal Setu” on the Mandovi river in Goa.
On January 30, he presented the state budget in the assembly.
His frail appearance, with a tube in his nose, drew severe criticism from the opposition.
The nation will never be able to get over this loss Sir. Rest in Peace. Jai Hind!
