Tripura tops country’s vaccination process for above 45 years age group, claims CM Biplab Kumar

Biplab Kumar added that the next goal of the government was to become the first state in the country to complete 100 percent vaccination of people

Chief Minister of Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb, on Friday stated the state of Tripura topped the country’s vaccination efforts for the age group of above 45 years.

In a tweet, the chief minister said that Tripura is at the top of the country in vaccination of those above 45 years of age. “This success has been possible only because of the awareness of the people,” he said.

Biplab Kumar added that the next goal of the government was to become the first state in the country to complete 100 percent vaccination of people. “The state government is working towards that goal,” he stated.

Thanking the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Biplab Kumar said that PM Modi is very active in tackling the challenging situation due to COVID-19.

Pointing to a 600 LPM oxygen plant constructed at Tripura Medical College, he informed that it was realized with the help of PM Cares. The plant, as per the CM, was approved as soon as the state proposal went to the Centre.

“I thank the Hon’ble Prime Minister for the efficient management of the whole country. The Prime Minister has been able to keep the economy in one place at a time when many developed countries of the world are struggling to cope with the crisis. Critics, who said the economy would deteriorate further, are nowhere to be seen,” he said.

Mr. Biplab Kumar said that it is often seen that the main reason for the death due to Covid is the negligence of the patients.

“They are not being tested despite the symptoms. Then suddenly, their condition is becoming critical. I would like to request everyone, if there are any symptoms, get tested quickly and consult a doctor,” he advised people.

Meanwhile, he revealed that the state government had allocated Rs 134 crore for vaccination but the Central government has announced free vaccinations. “So, the state government has decided, in that sense, the state’s health infrastructure will be streamlined,” he disclosed.

On Thursday, Tripura extended Corona curfew in six urban local bodies of the state, whilst relaxing restrictions in 14 other urban bodies and withdrawing curfew restrictions in rural areas.

Corona curfew, which was first imposed on May 16 at Agartala municipality, is currently in force in all urban bodies along with the night curfew in villages till tomorrow morning.
