Mamata Banerjee Gets Invite To Attend World Peace Meet In Rome

The letter invites Mamata Banerjee to the peace meeting on October 6-7 and congratulates her on winning state polls in March-April.

Mamata Banerjee, chief minister of West Bengal, has received a letter to attend a global peace meet and German Chancellor Angella Markel and Pope Francis in Rome on Wednesday.

Banerjee is the only Indian politician to be invited to the conference, World Meeting for Peace. Grand Imam Al-Alzhar Ahmad al-Tayyib of Egypt will attend this 6-7 October conference.

The Chief Minister of West Bengal has not commented on the invitation yet. But her supporters and other party members think that the invitation will contend her position as a strong opposition leader in the 2024 General Election.

The Letter Congratulate Mamata Banerjee On Winning State Election

The invitation letter sent by Macro Impagliazzo, the president of the Community of Sant’Egidio, congratulates Mamata on winning the state polls and for her developmental works for the backward communities and peace. Community of Sant’Egidio is a Catholic association based in Rome.

According to Times Now, the letter reads, “I feel your commitment and your generous battles in favor of the weakest and most disadvantaged very close to my sensitivity and the work of the Communist of Sant’Egidio in Rome and all world.”

Mamata Banerjee has led her party to a landmark victory by winning 213 seats in the West Bengal Assembly Elections held in 2021 with her pro-people campaigns and their timely implementation. Her schemes like Duare Sarkar (Government At Your Door Steps) and Paray Samadhan sealed her win.

The confusion of the Bengal residents, who generally do not favor caste politics, aided her to win. People could not associate BJP’s developmental activities and their Hindu ideology.

Bengal Election gained media popularity across the globe due to the constant attacks made on each other by the contesting parties. The election witnessed the maximum number of campaigns by both BJP and Trinamool Congress.

Congratulatory Messages Galore In Twitter For Mamata Banerjee

From party members to supporters, everybody is pouring their congratulatory messages on Twitter.

West Bengal state president of the Trinamool Congress student wing, Trinankur Bhattacharjee, wrote that she is the only Indian invited to the meet this year. His tweet reads, “Mamata Banerjee has been invited by the President of the Community of Sant’Egidio to the ‘World Meeting for Peace’ to be held in Rome on 6-7 October 2021. @MamataOfficial is the only Indian invited this year. @egiye_bangla.”

State spokesperson Sudip Raha also tweeted about the incident saying that it is a proud moment for West Bengal and hoped that MEA should not poke any political envy.

Meanwhile, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi will host a dinner for Mamata and other opposition leaders. The news broke on Twitter after the invitation letter became viral.

Mamata Banerjee’s Growing Popularity

If there is some instrument to measure Mamata’s popularity, the scales of that instrument will break by now. Her astounding win helped her grab eyeballs in the opposition politics.

The metrics of her rising popularity are visible when she became the only Indian politician invited to the peace meeting sometime in July. This letter arrives approving her global stature when Mamata is trying to cement a strong opposition force against the ruling BJP government.

Mamata Banerjee was deemed the next prime minister of India after a famous series portrayed a female prime minister that matched her characteristics and political insights. PM Basu in ‘Family Man2’ is a Bengali prime minister. The character was portrayed by the Bandit-Queen star Seema Biswas.

Her popularity among the political circuit was also visible during her Delhi visit. All opposition leaders met her and discuss the opposition approach for the 2024 elections. Mamata Banerjee might also contest UP Elections 2022 in alliance with Samajwadi Party. Her party, Trinamool Congress, has already expanded its foothold in the North-Eastern states of Tripura, Assam, and others.

Mamata Banerjee’s Election Winning Scheme Duare Sarkar Is Back

Duare Sarkar or Government at the doorsteps is back from 16 August to 15 September. This year the camps will deal with 18 schemes. The inquiries on the application received will be resolved from 8 September to 23 September.

But with the Delta+ variant looming at large, there is no clarity on how the authorities will maintain the Covid protocols. Last year the opposition had targeted the lack of covid protocol maintenance in the camps along with corruption.

However, the election campaign was turned around single-handedly by this campaign.
