World Hello Day was established in 1973 by Brian McCormack and Michael McCormack. This day was created with the motive of showing people that conflicts can and should be solved through communication rather than violence. The basic idea is to preserve peace, which can be done through honest communication. The global event was initiated as a response to the Yom Kippur War.

November 21st: World Hello Day

The McCormack brothers wrote letters to 1,360 government leaders worldwide in seven languages. The letter was to make them participate in celebrating the first World Hello Day. Since then, people from 180 countries have been actively participating in this day. Celebrating this day is simple. All you have to do is to greet at least ten people today. This demonstrates that you value personal communication for preserving peace over any other means.
