No loss of life or injury reported in the blast

Srinagar, J&K

A low-intensity improvised explosive device (IED) was triggered in the Dangerpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday (March 5).

The IED exploded near Government Degree College for Women where CRPF personnel were posted on duty.

As per local police officials, militants had planted a low-intensity IED which was triggered off with a remote device. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in the explosion.

Meanwhile, the area was cordoned off and searches were being made by the government forces in a bid to nab the attackers.

Pertinently, this is the second militancy-related incident in the day. Earlier, a rusty grenade was found by the forces in the main market of Kupwara district.

Further details are awaited.
