PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana: Farmers get guaranteed monthly pension of Rs 3,000

Farmers, having a PM Kisan bank account, will not require any additional documentation as they can register immediately in the PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana

NEW DELHIFarmers who have got themselves registered under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) may now rejoice, thanks to the PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana Pension Scheme.

The government has now launched the PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana to give financial assistance to farmers in their later years. Farmers would receive a pension of up to Rs 3000 per month under this scheme.

Farmers would receive a pension after 60 years under the PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana. More significantly, if you have a PM Kisan account, you will not require any documentation. You can register immediately in the PM Kisan Maandhan Scheme.

According to the information on the PM Kisan Maandhan Scheme website, this scheme provides for a pension after the age of 60. Any farmer between the ages of 18 and 40 can participate in this scheme. The farmer receives a monthly pension of up to Rs 3000 under this scheme.

Documents required for Maandhan Yojana

The following is a list of documents, which are required to register for PM Kisan Maandhan Pension Scheme:

  1. Aadhar Card
  2. Age Certificate
  3. Income Certificate
  4. Field Khasra Khatauni
  5. Bank Account Passbook
  6. Mobile number
  7. Photo in Passport Size

How does Maandhan Yojana work?

After reaching the age of 60, the registered farmer would get a minimum monthly pension of Rs 3000 or an annual pension of Rs 36,000 based on monthly investments. Farmers will have to invest between Rs 55 and Rs 200 each month to achieve this.

In PM Kisan Maandhan, there is also a provision for a family pension. The spouse will receive a 50% pension if the account holder dies. The family pension only covers the spouse.

The government provides qualified farmers with cash support of Rs 6,000 per year in three instalments of Rs 2,000 each under the PM Kisan scheme. This sum is deposited straight into the farmer’s account. If its account holders join the PM Kisan Maandhan pension programme, they would be able to register immediately.

In addition, if the farmer chooses this option, the monthly pension contribution will be withheld from the amount received in these three instalments. That is, the PM Kisan account holder will not be required to make any out-of-pocket investments.
